The studio

The studio was purpose-built by John Softley and Peter Rudeforth in 2001. Having had a successful mobile recording unit, they decided to fulfil a need by building an excellent quality, affordable place to record in a relaxed and acoustically pleasant manner.

Having played and recorded with many well-known bands and ensembles they knew just what to do.

The result is a beautiful sounding live room with all the tech you could possibly desire.

John, a highly qualified electrical engineer and banjo/guitarist, ran a very successful band, 'Just the Job Jazzband', and set up many jazz clubs in the local area and beyond. After John's retirement in 2007, Peter took over the management of the studio, keeping up with current trends in digital recording by purchasing the Presonus StudioLive desks, many new microphones and the screens for acoustic separation of the piano, drums and vocals.
